Official self-service links for managing your SRD grant application on the SASSA website.
These links take you directly to the relevant pages on the official SASSA SRD website. You will need your 13-digit SA ID number and registered cellphone number.
Update the bank account linked to your SRD grant. You will receive an OTP on your registered cellphone to confirm the change.
If you cannot receive the OTP, update your phone number first (below).
Update the cellphone number linked to your SRD application. SASSA uses identity verification (e-KYC) to confirm it is you.
SASSA may ask you to verify your identity using facial recognition. This is required for certain changes to your application (such as updating your phone number).
If your application was declined because your name or surname does not match your ID, you can request a correction.
If your circumstances have changed and you no longer need or qualify for the SRD grant, you can cancel your application.
If you previously cancelled your SRD grant but would like to receive it again, you can reinstate your application.
If your application was declined for any period from April 2022 onwards, you may submit an appeal.
Submit an appeal through the official SRD appeals portal. You will need your ID number, registered cellphone number, and the 6-digit Application ID (APP-ID) from your SASSA outcome notice.
Appeals are reviewed by the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA) and can take 60–90 days.
For appeals related to other social grants or if directed by SASSA, you can use the Department of Social Development appeals process.
Reconsideration processing for the period May 2020 to March 2022 has been completed. No new applications will be considered for this period.
